In the Community

Providing high-quality legal services to our community was the primary impetus behind our decision to found Alane & Chartier. This commitment to serving our community is also why we strongly believe in providing pro bono legal services, as well as dedicating our services and resources to charitable organizations. Service to those in need is a fundamental philosophical principle at Alane & Chartier, and every staff member must meet our firm’s minimum pro bono hour requirement each year.  The firm has been honored by the State Bar of Michigan with the Pro Bono Circle of Excellence in 2010 and 2011.

Among the organizations that we have served are the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Service to Soldiers Program, the Lansing Area AIDS Network, Child and Family Services--Capital Area, the Women's Center of Greater Lansing, and the Michigan Youth in Government.
