Colleague Testimonials

Both Ms. Chartier and [Assistant Attorney General] Mr. Pallas represented their clients in this court with integrity and professionalism.  The court is indebted to Ms. Chartier for her diligence in unraveling a complicated set of facts surrounding petitioner’s appeal as of right and presenting them in a cogent fashion.  Ms. Chartier’s intimate familiarity with the law and procedures surrounding Michigan criminal appeals was of invaluable assistance to the court.  United States Magistrate Judge Joseph Scoville in Morris v Curtin, 1:07-cv-454, August 8, 2011

Hi Natalie! I just wanted to let you know that I had my change of custody motion yesterday and it went very well which is largely attributable to you.  I watched the ICLE seminar online and you did a great job!

Dear Mary and Nat,  Another great win for you guys!  Great job, Mary.  These cases are impossible to reverse, but you did it.

Mary, We haven’t met, but I had a chance to watch you in action in connection with your appeal. I thought your oral argument was one of the best appellate oral arguments I’ve seen in 31 years of practice in the federal and state courts.  Not only did you know your subject matter cold, but you interacted so easily and effortlessly with the judges, picked up on their signals, answered their every question and engaged them in thoughtful dialogue. Wow.  You are formidable. With kind regards.

I join the chorus of congrats to Natalie and Mary for the Pro Bono Circle of Excellence Award.  Natalie and Mary have shown a wonderful commitment to our community.  Many congrats to them for their tireless and inspiring work.  Way to go, Natalie and Mary -- our hats are off to you!

Congratulations to Natalie and Mary!  Alane & Chartier, P.L.C. (a women-owned law firm) has been recognized with the 2010 Pro Bono Circle of Excellence by the State Bar of Michigan!  Fewer than 20 firms statewide were recognized in the small-firm category. Thank you for the volunteer time you’ve given.  It takes commitment and sacrifice.

Natalie: Today was the first time I had the opportunity to see you present.  I thought you were terrific today.   The hard work you had put into your preparation for your presentation translated into a flow of information and ideas and concepts.  Congrats.

Natalie, Hope your firm’s anniversary celebration was a blast.  You guys have a lot to be proud of—like the fact that your seminar materials virtually wrote my latest trial brief on custody.  Here’s to even more good things to you both in the future.

Natalie & Mary, You are two of the brightest, hardest working ladies I know and your success is well earned.  Congratulations!
